Jerry L. Steinbach, 83, of Champlin, Minnesota, passed away on November 14, 2025.
Jerry was born on May 18, 1942, in International Falls, Minnesota, and grew up in Loman with his parents, Moritz and Emma Steinbach.
After graduating from high school, Jerry moved to Minneapolis to study drafting and began his career with Schaefer Refrigeration. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves, completing electronics technician training at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Jerry built a successful career as a mechanical designer, working for Control Data for 23 years, followed by Printware, and ultimately retiring from Data Card.
Jerry had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and bird watching with family and friends. He was also passionate about his hobbies, which included wood carving and designing an intricate model railroad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moritz and Emma; and brothers-in-law Duane Johnson, Carl Johnson, Harold Helgeson, and Graham Keeney.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Karen; daughter Maria (Bruce) Reedstrom; son Daniel (Corrin); grandson Nathaniel; brother Harvey (Iris); sisters Eileen (Virgil), Caroline, and Barbara; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held at Brooklyn Lutheran Church, 5840 69th Ave N, Brooklyn Park, on Monday, November 24, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will take place at a later date at Champlin Cemetery.
