William Lee Jones Obituary

William L Jones Sr. 88 of Superior died Monday, November 17, 2025 at Villa Marina Nursing Home. 


William was born in Superior on July 9, 1937. The son of Vern and Lois (Davidson) Jones. He graduated from Northwestern High School. He married Rosa Lee Levine on July 26, 1958 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage. 


He worked as a pipefitter, serviced and installed gas stations for Misna oil and Minnesota Petroleum. He also belonged to local Union 1050. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and a member of the Poplar Wentworth Lions Club.   


Bill was active in many sports including trap shooting, camping, boating, bowling, hunting, fishing, also golfed in many leagues with his putter Myrtle. He was an original member of the Charlie Brown Middle River Softball team. He enjoyed woodworking projects and was a big Green Bay Packers fan. 


Bill and Rosa Lee enjoyed traveling around the United States and spent a lot of time in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. 


He was preceded in death his parents Vern and Lois, brother Bob Jones. 


William is survived by his wife Rosa Lee, children William Jr. (Sung), Jeff, Brad (Sheryl) Jones, brother Leslie Jones and sister Carol Henderson. He is also survived by 7 grand children and 7 great grand children. 


Visitation will be held Friday, December 5 from 12:00-1:00 PM with a service at 1:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church of Poplar, WI. 


Special thanks to staff members at the Villa Marina for the wonderful job at taking care of our father.  


He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.
