John Edward Bittner of Richfield, MN passed away at the age of 74 of natural causes. John was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 6, 1951.

He joined the Army durying the Vietnam era. He was a very proud veteran.

He worked many years for Marriott and the Thunder bird hotels as a maintenance man.

John met and fell in love with Jeff Schleif in 1989 and were finally married in 2023.

John very a very kind soul, and was always helping others. He volunteered at Mount Olivett nursing home. He loved his beer and listening to the 70s music.

John is proceeded in death by his parents. Earl and Leone Bittner, and sister Nancy Bayle.

He is survived by his husband Jeff Schleif; sisters Sharon Hill, Carol (Tom) Johnson, Shirley Bittner and many other extended family members and friends.

Burial service will be held at Fort Snelling on Friday May 8th at 12:45 PM.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
