Dr. Daniel  L. Jett of Victoria, MN was born in Washington, DC on March 28,1944 and passed away in Waconia, MN on November 14, 2025. His parents Mary Margaret and William Glenn Jett  and brother William Glenn Jett Jr. preceded him in death and he is survived by his wife, Diane N. Pulling, Victoria, MN; son Corey Daniel Jett Pulling, Victoria, MN; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Susan Jett Zirko and David Zirko, La Grange, IL and his grandchildren Jett and Harper Zirko. In addition, his sister Maggi Braun of North Carolina and sister-in-law Dawn Jett of Maryland, survive him as well as several nephews.

A graduate of the University of MD and public school Superintendent, Dr. Jett served the Harford and Howard County Schools in MD and moved to MN to serve as the Minnetonka Schools chief. He retired from heading the West Metro Education Program where he believed passionately in improving education for all children by addressing issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.  He served his community as a Rotary member, poll worker and on various Boards.

His true pleasure came from making memories with his family. They lived on Lake Minnewashta for many years when boating and water sports entertained them. Family trips to Mount Rushmore, white water rafting, Caribbean Cruises and Spring Break in Mexico were his specialities. Dan and his son, Corey, the best of friends, made memories as boxing aficions travelling many times to Las Vegas for memorable bouts and spending weekends at their Sportsmen’s Club in Nisswa, MN enjoying their firearms hobby. Dan enjoyed squiring Rebecca for years to her athletic events, active social events and beamed with pride when she earned her PharmD. He enjoyed nothing more than her children, his  grandchildren, Jett and Harper Zirko . He was known for endless tinkering, fixing most anything and home projects.  In retirement, Dan and Diane enjoyed music events, season tickets for the Guthrie Theater, beach vacations and making friends by playing pickleball.

A celebration of Dan’s life will commemorate his gifts - intelligence and problem solving abilities, his humor, and the many memories he made with friends and family. The service will be at the Schram Winery, 8785 Airport Rd., Waconia, MN 55387on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 3-6 pm. Please let a family member know if you would like to attend.
