In Loving Memory

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Joseph Huot, who departed this life on November 2, 2025 at the age of 72.  He was a cherished spouse, brother, family member and friend, remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to family and friends.

Born on March 31, 1953 in Middletown, New Jersey, Tom grew up with a passion for automobiles, music, and working with his hands.  He entered the computer industry during its inception and quickly began working at Cray Research with the earliest generation of supercomputers.  He remained in the field throughout his career and worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory while employed with Hewlett-Packard.

Tom loved folk, roots and Americana music and attended scores of house and club concerts.  He was known to play a mean version of “Dead Skunk” by Loudon Wainwright III.  He loved being with friends and family and having a good time.  He also loved sports and was a devoted dog owner.

Tom is survived by his beloved spouse, Phyllis Huot, his sister, Claudia Huot (Joe Taylor) and his brother, Stephen Huot (Karen Maiers-Huot), and his nephews and nieces (Joseph Huot, Andrew Huot, Jenny Morgan, Charlie Taylor, Peter Taylor and Olivia Taylor), as well as many other friends and relatives.  He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tom was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond Huot and Jacqueline Olivier Huot, and his first wife, Susan Harrison Huot.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 3:30 PM, at The Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, MN 55435 and the facility will be available from 2:00 to 5:00 PM for friends and family to gather and celebrate Tom’s life.
