Our beloved Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma Marilyn, age 102, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 with family by her side.
Preceded in death by husband Eugene Rollwagen (1993), husband Dr. James Dahl (2018) and son Steven. Survived by sons Jim (Kris), Dave (Mary) and daughter-in-law Kristi.
Cherished Grandma to Katy (Brian) Monahan, Tim (Kate) Rollwagen, Kerry (Jim) Anderson, Kevin (Molly) Rollwagen, Hilary (Brooks) Waggoner, Torrey (Kelsey) Duerr, Joe (Caroline) Rollwagen, Nick, Tyler (Brooke Bink), Ben and Charlie Rollwagen. Delighted Great-Grandma to Bernie, Will, Theo, Blair, Grace, Finn, Lucas, Marlo, Lily, Gordon, Addie and Oscar.
Marilyn wore many hats over her long life: graduate of Hamline University, war bride, mother and homemaker; career social worker for the Minneapolis Health Department; life-long Democrat, proud Swede, avid hostess of family and friends at her treasured Green Lake; and dedicated caregiver, particularly through her husbands’ respective battles with Alzheimer’s and Parkinsons. Whatever hat she was wearing, she displayed kindness, generosity and an open heart. Marilyn rarely complained and never lost her ability to offer a smile and share some laughter.
A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made in her honor to the MN-ND Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the Parkinsons Foundation, Hamline University, or a charity of choice.
