Cathy L. Young (Thompson) crossed over to the other side unexpectedly on November 5, 2025, at the age of 72. She was a resident of Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Born on June 20, 1953, in Virginia, Minnesota, she was the loving daughter of Marietta & Durwood Thompson.

Cathy began her career as a flight attendant in 1976 and after 43 years of service she proudly retired with Delta Airlines in 2019. She loved her career, her co-workers, traveling the world, and meeting new people. Her passions included spending time with family and friends at their cabin in Annandale, Minnesota; golfing; dogs; and sunsets. But her greatest joy and true passion in life was the love of her family. Her kindness, humor, spunk, and good nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marietta and Durwood Thompson; her sisters Carlye Lottman and Cindy Hardy; her niece Nicole Lottman.

Cathy is survived by her devoted husband, Don Young, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage; her son Justin Young and his wife Jamie; her daughter Ashley Young; her beloved grandchildren, Isaak and Parker Young; and her sister Christina Berenberg.

A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Birch’s on the Lake, beginning at 11 a.m.
