It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dianne Halicki, 83, Duluth, MN on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Dianne was born to Edward and Mary Halicki on May 12, 1942, in Chisholm, MN, the first of three daughters.
After high school, Dianne worked at many jobs in the Chisholm/Hibbing area and then moved to Duluth to work at Prudential Insurance until her retirement, at which time she was employed at Lake Superior Insurance Agency until illness prevented her from working any longer. Dianne had many interests, including being an avid reader, trying her luck at casinos, boating on Lake Superior, watching movies and her favorite television shows, and traveling in her younger years. She was a diehard Minnesota Twins fan. She excelled in games like Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit. No one could ever beat her! She was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews and loved taking them to movies and concerts and on trips. She was a long time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Laurene Lindgren and brother-in-law Evans (Duffy) Lindgren.
She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her sister Edonna (Rick) Spokely, nephew Chris (Niki) Spokely, nephew David (Tammy) Lindgren, niece Leah (Darren) Lindgren-Stacey, nephew Jay (Nicole) Lindgren, and great-nieces and nephews Ashley (Tyrel) Suzor-Hoy, Rachael Stacey, Marcus (Katelyn), David (Shaeley), Hunter (Caitlin), Jaret, Colton, and Tizer Lindgren, her lifetime best friend Georgia Cannata, and many cousins.
The family wishes to thank Dianne’s longtime friend and caregiver, Tammy Nelson, for the years of loving friendship and care, and Trista Hendrickson for the past months of wonderful homecare, and the Essentia Hospice team members who took care of Dianne at her home and at Solvay Hospice House.
Arrangements will be by the Cremation Society of Duluth, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth MN, as follows: Wednesday, November 12, 2025 with a visitation at 10:00am, service at 11:00am, and a luncheon to follow. Service will be conducted by Deacon Tim Kittleson. Donations may be made to Minnesota Public Radio or your local food shelf in Dianne’s honor
