Karen Faith Ryding, born on August 23, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 at the age of 83.

Karen graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1960 and was blessed with many lifelong friendships formed during her years there and at First Covenant Church of Minneapolis, where she grew up in a strong and loving faith community.

She met John Ryding, at North Park College, and they were married in 1963. They were married for 35 wonderful years.

Karen enjoyed a fulfilling career at Cargill, where she worked for many years as an executive assistant before retiring. She was a devoted member of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie and actively participated in various ministries, always eager to serve and connect with others.

Known for her gracious hospitality, Karen loved gathering family and friends around her beautifully set table, adorned with her cherished dishes, fine china, and Swedish crystal. Her warmth, generosity, and attention to detail made every occasion special.

She was loved by all her family; her kids, grandkids, and was so excited for her great grandchildren to visit before she passed

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Frances Elieff; her beloved husband, John Ryding; her sister, Kathy Erickson; and her grandson, Conner Ryding.

She is survived by her children Steve (Wendi) Ryding, Julie (Erik) Bruchman, and David (Kirsten) Ryding; her grandchildren Casey (Nikki) Ryding, Caden Ryding, John-Erik Bruchman, Olivia (Dalton) Manning, and Maggie Bruchman; her great-grandchildren Avery Manning and Liam Ryding, and her sister Marilyn (Bruce) Johnson.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be held on Thursday, November 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. Services will be Livestreamed here.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Minnehaha Academy, an institution that held a special place in her heart.
