Sandra Lee "Sandy" Brookens (née Tolbert) Obituary

Sandra Lee Brookens, affectionately known as Sandy, made her peaceful journey to her heavenly home on October 16, 2025, around 1:00 p.m. CST. She was surrounded by the love and peace of her home at New Perspectives Senior Living in Woodbury, Minnesota, as she transitioned to see her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on March 15, 1948, Sandra was a beacon of light, faith, and love throughout her 77 years of life. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harry Robert Tolbert and Charlotte Margaret Tolbert “Park.” She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Avis Chronister of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; her devoted daughter, Nichol “Nikki” LeAnn “Brookens” Perricci, and son-in-law, Donato Daniel Perricci of Oakdale, Minnesota; her cherished grandchildren, Jeffery Alan Clark and his wife, Jordan, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Brianna Nichol Hollar, and DreShawn Lee George, both of St. Paul, Minnesota; and two beautiful great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her heart.

Sandra lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service. A devoted Pastor, caregiver, and friend to all, her life’s mission was to share the message of Jesus with everyone she met. She touched countless lives with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith, spreading hope and love wherever she went. Even in her final months, her doctors and nurses recognized her as a true woman of God—graceful, steadfast, and filled with divine peace.

Her family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who loved Sandra, supported her, and shared in her journey. They pray that her life and testimony have left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Sandra on November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedric Landings Community Room, located at 5680 Hadley Ave N, Oakdale, MN. Family and friends are invited to come and celebrate the beautiful life she lived, share stories, and rejoice in her eternal victory. Light refreshments will be served. An additional Celebration of Life will take place in Pennsylvania during the Summer of 2026, allowing loved ones near and far to come together in her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the DragonFly Young Writers Fund - www.dragonfly-fund.com, a charitable initiative established to help young writers share their stories with the world. This fund was created in honor of Sandra’s lifelong love for reading and writing—she believed in the power of words to inspire, heal, and connect people, and she encouraged others to tell their stories boldly and beautifully.

Sandra’s life was a living testimony of faith, love, and purpose. Though she is deeply missed, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched and in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
