Margaret “Mert” Pyle passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2025. Born on August 22nd, 1938 to parents Phillip and Madonna. She was the youngest of 3 daughters. She married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Edward in August 1958.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Ed Pyle, son-in-law John Crossno and grandsons Rhett Schulz and Ian Crossno.

Survived by children Chris (Lesley) Pyle, Bethe Crossno and Amy Cunningham (Mike Lund). Grandchildren Bryce (Aubrey) Pyle, Ryan Pyle, Adam Crossno, Tegan (Travis) Lorentson, Hannah (Paul) Edgar, Jake (Kristin) Schulz and Cree Cunningham (Nick Andersen). Great grandchildren Dax and Addy Schulz and Morris Edgar.

Ed worked his way up the ladder in corporate America, a career that required the family to move several times across different states. No matter where they lived, Mert had a special gift for making friends and turning a new place into a warm and welcoming home through her love of cooking and hosting.

She was the bedrock of her family, managing the household and raising her children. She excelled at card games and was an avid reader. Her calls went unanswered while Jeopardy! was on. She was an eloquent and well-informed conversationalist, capable of discussing a wide range of topics.

Mert will be greatly missed by family and friends but they take comfort that Mert and Ed are now at peace together.

 A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 7th from 2:00PM – 5:00PM at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue S. Edina, MN 55435.
