Age 100, Ed was born September 27th, 1925 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and died October 11th in Bloomington, Minnesota. His career in education spanned 30 years as an American History teacher with the Minneapolis Public School System. He is survived by his son Bruce, granddaughter Caitlin Daniel, great-grandson Leo Muller, and legions of Okie relations.
Ed wore many hats over his long life. Besides his role as educator, he was also an avid photographer, traveler, hunter, angler, and most importantly, purveyor of Ole & Lena jokes.
After retiring from teaching, he logged countless hours with a number of public charities and venues, including host of the City of Bloomington’s Public Access video show, “Expanding Horizons”. Most recently, he will be remembered for his 20 years of volunteer work with the Hennepin County Library System. He will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, October 28th at the Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington Chapel, located at 9889 Penn Ave. So., Bloomington, MN 55431.
Memorial donations should be directed to the Outreach Program of Hennepin County Library.
