Michael "Mike" Spillane Obituary

Michael “Mike” Spillane, of Minnetonka, passed away peacefully at the age of 61.

Mike was raised in Minneapolis and New Hope, Minnesota. He was a proud graduate of Robbinsdale Cooper ('81) & Dunwoody Technical College and he was a dedicated member of the IBEW local 292 union for nearly 30 years before retiring earlier this year.

Outside of work, Mike enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — fishing on Minnesota’s lakes, cheering on local sports teams, catching a great concert, and spending time with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ann Spillane.

Mike is survived by his greatest joys — his children, Jessie and James Spillane — and his beloved grandchildren, Denzel and Zendela, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Kelly Norman (Paul) and Carri Spillane; his niece Riley and nephew Jack; numerous cousins and many lifelong friends who became like family over the years.

Please join Mike’s family and friends for a Celebration of Life to share laughs, stories, and maybe a fishing tale or two as we celebrate his life.

We’ll have plenty of food, drinks, and good company. Wear something comfy, bring your smiles, and get ready for an evening full of memories, laughs, and maybe a few “tall tales.”

Remembrances can be made through contributions to your favorite charity in Mike's memory.
