Chris "Langer" Langlee Obituary

Chris (Langer) Langlee, 64, of Duluth passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by family.  Chris was born to Wayne and Eileen (Adameak) Langlee on August 23, 1961.  Chris attended St. Jean's Catholic School and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1979.  On March 29, 1983, Chris joined the Air National Guard serving 20 years, retiring on January 31, 2005, as a Master Sergeant. Chris went on to work at Enger Park Golf Course, Financial Recovery Services, HCL, and most recently he was the Credit and Collections Administrator for the City of Duluth.

Chris spent his youth playing baseball and softball.  He spent three years playing varsity baseball for the Denfeld Hunters. As an adult, he played on various softball teams including the Rustic Rockers, Mr. D's Pinch Hitters, and he ended his softball career with the Krenzen Softball team in 1997 sporting the number 5 jersey.  Legend has it that Langer could swing a mean bat both left-handed and right-handed.  Chris was an avid golfer and spent most of his summers on Nemadji Golf Course.  He was a diehard Minnesota Vikings and Wild fan; he was a true Minnesotan sportsman.  Chris loved to cook and entertain his family and friends with a wide variety of rock and roll always playing in the background (best known one-man air band).  His biggest passion was his family.  Chris had a wonderful sense of humor and the best one-liners. In 2010, he met the love of his life Patrice (Johnson) Langlee, and they married on June 21, 2019.  Together they raised their blended family with love, laughter and happiness.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Eileen Langlee, and his father-in-law, Thomas Ondracek.  He is survived by his wife, Patrice; children, Becky (Lincoln) Orlowski, Chase (Braydon) Mallett, Jory Johnson, and Holly Johnson; his granddaughter, Kyla Johnson; siblings, Jon (Patty) Langlee and Amy (Jay) Sparks; his mother-in-law, Lorriane Ondracek; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Chris will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Cremation Society of Minnesota. 4100 Grand Ave Duluth, MN.

A celebration honoring Chris's life will be at 2:00pm with a reception to follow at the same location.

Chris's family would like to give a special thank you to Essentia's critical care team for taking such excellent care of him and his family during this difficult time.
