David Norman Behler Obituary

David Norman Behler, age 58, died peacefully at home in Anoka, MN after a 2 year battle with glioblastoma. He took his last breath on Sunday, October 19th 2025 in the presence of his wife Deanna, son Nicholas, and daughter Laura. In the days, weeks, and months prior, he received countless visits from beloved friends, family members, and his excellent hospice caregiving team. 


David was preceded in death by parents, Burr and Judith Behler; and sister in law, Tiffany. He is survived by wife, Deanna; son, Nicholas (Brittany); daughter, Laura (Scott); brothers, Ben, Bill (Patty), and John; and many nieces and nephews. 


David was born and grew up in St. Paul, MN, and graduated from Highland Park High School. David pursued a career in mechanical design for many years before finding his true calling and returning to school to earn his nursing degree. David held various nursing positions before finding his true purpose as a hospice care nurse. He trained and mentored many of the hospice professionals that aided in his end of life care. David has made a lasting impact on the Twin Cities hospice care community. 


David was an avid fisherman. He loved spending time with his family and friends at the Behler cabin in northern MN. David took every opportunity to share his blessings with those he loved, he always wanted to make the world a better place. 


David's celebration of life will be held on Friday October 24th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2125 Tower Dr. Woodbury, MN 55125. There will be a visitation at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, family would prefer memorials be sent to the church where David and family were active members for many years.
