Cathy Ann Johnson Obituary

Cathy Ann Johnson, 66, long time resident of Prescott, WI, died after a two-month fight with illness on October 13, 2025, at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. She was born on July 8, 1959, in Marengo, IA, the daughter of Dean Mouchka and Mariann (Junge) Fay. 


 


Cathy graduated from Belle Plaine High School, Class of 1977, in Belle Plaine, IA. After high school, she attended the Lakeland Medical Academy in Minneapolis, MN, moved to Prescott and met her husband, Ronald H. Johnson. They married on October 1, 1984. She was a housewife and business manager, played in the local softball leagues, was a member of the Prescott American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed the Legion’s Chicken Frys flouring chicken for her husband and dying eggs for the Legion’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. She was also an avid gardener, collected thimbles, loved canning, cooking and baking for all occasions, crocheting, being outdoors, building puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. She was a friend to many and filled everyone’s days with kindness, laughter, and pie.


 


Cathy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ron; daughter Ann (Wallace) Waruiru of Prescott; sons Ron/RJ Johnson Jr. and Alex Johnson both of River Falls; and daughter Mary (Travis) Seubert of Minnetrista, MN; nine grandchildren Landon, Jeremy/JJ, Brenna, Estelle, Owen, Finley, Noah, Brooks, and Archer; parents Dean and Roxie Mouchka of Wheatland, IA, and Ardillo Fay of Victor, IA; brothers Randy (Karen) Mouchka of Belle Plaine, IA, and Danny (Marilyn) Mouchka of Victor, IA; sister Pam (Gary) Williams of Richland Center; half-sister Kami Meredith of TN; stepsiblings Jeannine Scandridge of Victor, IA, Jana Barker and Steven Fay both of CO; and many nieces and nephews.


 


She is preceded in death by her mother, Mariann Fay; infant brother Ricky Mouchka; grandson Bryson Wallace; nephew Bryant Westfall; great-niece Hailey Thompson; in-laws Harry and Helen Johnson; sister-in-law Judith Ott; and nieces Lisa Johnson and Kimberly Vashon. 


 


A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held at Cathy’s Pond on the Johnson Family Farm, W11422 County Road MM, Prescott, WI 54021, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00pm.
