Age 92, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on October 4,

2025.

Born on April 12, 1933, in Minneapolis to Clarence and Dorothy Olson, Marion spent

her entire life within the close-knit neighborhoods of South Minneapolis. She

graduated from Washburn High School in 1951 and later attended classes at Drake

University in Iowa.

Marion married Monroe Gage, Jr. and together they raised five children, later

adopting three more to create one big, loving blended family. After their marriage 

ended, she married Leon Mitchell, and the family continued to grow with many 

grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years.

At the age of 60, Marion decided to enter the workforce, beginning her career with the

Chamber of Commerce and later working at St. Olaf Nursing Home, where she

remained until her retirement at age 80.

Marion will be remembered for her open heart and open home, her quick wit and

sense of humor, her love of time spent with friends, and her lifelong devotion to family.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, extended family, and many beloved

friends.

Bunny is loved and missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Marion and Debra will be held Sunday, June 28th, 2026. Gathering of family and friends 2:00-3:00 PM, service 3:00 PM with reception to follow at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Avenue, Edina MN.
