Michael (Butch) Myre 76 of West Duluth died on October 10th in his home surrounded by family.

He was born to Vernon and Nora Myre. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1967. He joined the U.S. Army in February 1967 and spent 16 months in Bangkok Thailand and 3 months in Germany. He was honorably discharged in June 1971.

He was employed at St. Ann’s for eleven years. While employed at St. Ann’s, he met Mary and they were married in 1982.

He worked at KDLH for fifteen years then purchased Romano's Grocery Store and worked the store for five years before retiring in 2010.

Michael enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He liked selling his collectibles on eBay, working around the house, jigsaw puzzles and walking around his neighborhood of West Duluth.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 43 years, children Jennifer (Douglas), John (Kristen), brother Ed (Patti), sister Mary (Roy), sister Sharon, grandchildren Morris and Nora, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Saturday, October 18th. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at 11 a.m.
