Todd Thorstad, age 63, of Glenwood, MN, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, following a tragic traffic accident. Our hearts are shattered by the sudden loss of such a kind, creative, and generous soul. Todd gave so much of himself to us and others — quietly, consistently, and with deep love. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.

Born in Alexandria, MN to Maynard and Carol Thorstad, Todd grew up in Hoffman, where he graduated from Hoffman Kensington High School in 1981. He went on to earn a degree in Animal Science from North Dakota State University in Fargo — a fitting path for someone who felt most at home in nature and among animals.

Todd spent much of his career at Stockmen’s Supply in West Fargo, ND, later moving to Glenwood MN and working for Leedstone in Melrose MN. He was the kind of man who never sought the spotlight but was always there when you needed him — humble, authentic, and endlessly dependable. Whether it was helping a neighbor, fixing something with quiet ingenuity, or simply showing up with a smile, Todd made life better for those around him.

He found joy in the outdoors — hunting, fishing, and perfecting his venison jerky and sausage recipes with the precision of a craftsman and the pride of a host. Halloween was one of his favorite days of the year; he delighted in greeting trick-or-treaters, coaxing stories about their costumes, and sharing in their excitement. And when the seasons turned, the open road called to him. Todd and his beloved wife Deborah shared countless adventures on his Harley, exploring the country together with wind in their hair and laughter in their hearts.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Maynard, and sister-in-law Kathy Thorstad (Joel). He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Deborah; his mother, Carol; brothers Jerry (Donna) Thorstad, Dale (Julie) Thorstad, and Joel Thorstad; mother-in-law Norma Haley; stepchildren David (Christie) Kostka, Andy Kostka, and Kelly Dewald; and his cherished fur babies Ruby, Georgie, and Lilly. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry his memory forward with love.

A celebration of Todd’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM, at Rendezvous Farm, 12839 County Rd 7 SW, Farwell, MN 56327. We invite all who knew and loved Todd to join us in honoring his life, his laughter, and the quiet strength that made him so deeply cherished.
