Avery Andrew Haak Obituary

Avery Haak, age 93 died on Sept 27, 2025 after a brief illness.  He was born on 5/4/32 in Providence, RI to Leo and Edna Haak and preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Haak in 2008 after 53 years of marriage, and sister Alice Haight in 2017.  He is survived by his 2 daughters, Anna (Dale) Lamb & Andrea (Jon) Hendrickson; 4 grandchildren, Mathew, Jacob (Suzume), Issac Hendrickson, & Amy Lamb and 1 great grandson, Naoki Hendrickson.      


Avery retired as a corporate economist from the Dayton/Hudson Corporation (now Target) in 1987 he went on to serve his community as a census taker, volunteer tax preparer, and in a variety of other roles that fit his passions for bridge, movies and lifelong learning.  Avery was a life master in bridge and climbed 47 of the 50 state highpoint in the USA.  He loved nature, travel, art, theater and a good Chinese buffet.  


A special thanks to the staff at Prelude Homes for their compassionate care of Avery for the past year.  The family will hold a private remembrance at a later date.  No memorials are requested.  In honor of Avery, please do what you can to save the bees and be kind to others.
