Rose Ann Barbari Obituary
Rose Ann was a true blue St Paul gal that moved west across the river in 1999 to Minnetonka after retiring to be closer to her grandchildren. She loved her family and was a devoted mom and grandma. Well known for her wonderful Italian cooking guaranteed a delicious meal each time you visited and always having leftovers to take home. Nature and its beauty with each change of season brought her so much joy. Being an animal lover she admired their grace, elegance and strength with each encounter. We called her the dog whisperer. They were drawn to her and knew she was a kind and gentle soul. A gift that her granddaughter Alli shares.
Rose Ann shared fond childhood memories of growing up on Burr St in St Paul near many relatives and visiting aunts, uncles and cousins in Cumberland, WI. She graduated from Harding High School in 1957. She spent a few summers working at Camp Widjiwagan near Ely, MN as the camp secretary, bringing the family dog Prince with her for the adventure. She loved it up North. She spoke about visiting friends who had moved to California and New York and how much fun they experienced together. She had successful careers with the St Paul Saints Hockey Team and NSP/Excel Energy in White Bear Lake. While living in Little Canada, MN for 27 years she was so fortunate to have amazing neighbors and life long friends.
Rose Ann Barbari was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Agnes (Ricci) Barbari, her brothers Dick and Joe (Barb) Barbari and her sister Deloris Burkholder. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Monica, Son-in-law Jerry, grandchildren Grant and Alli (Josh) and grand dog Mushu. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Bob Burkholder, sister-in-law Sandy Barbari, nieces Kristi (Nathan) Schatz and their girls Jose and Lexi, JoJo (Mathew) and their children Athena and Mateo, and her nephews Rick (Lisa) Barbari and their daughters Jenna and Sophie, Lewis Barbari and Geno Barbari.
Life is too short. Spread your love and kindness everywhere and to everyone.
