Theodore Robert "Ted" Ceryes Jr. Obituary

Theodore "Ted" Robert Ceryes Jr.  of Duluth MN age 83 passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth MN after suffering a stroke on Thanksgiving Day November 28th , 2024 .


Ted was born October 24th , 1941 to Theodore Robert Sr. and Evelyn Doris Ceryes.  Ted is now joined in heaven with his loving wife Barbara Gayle Ceryes.   Ted did join the Army in 1962 but did not have to deploy to Vietnam. Ted was a retired member of the IBEW electrical workers union.  He worked for Proctor Public Utilities, Minnesota Power and Excel Energy.  Ted loved going fishing and camping, spending time with his family and grandchildren at Pine Acres Resort and Campground in ORR, MN.  He also loved coming up with new inventions for his camper at the campground. Ted had also been an avid bow hunter and cinematographer. He owned a small business called Super 8 filming. Ted used to film movies hanging outside of a small engine plane for a show called Bill Steffel's Sportsman's Notebook that used to air on Channel 10.   


Ted is now survived by his children Sherry (Jarred) Marek, Susan Ceryes, Theodore (Stacia) Ceryes III, and Michelle Paulson. Grandchildren, Fahlym, Stephanie, David, Joshua, Sarah, Benjamin, Jenny, Kayla and Alexis and Great grandchildren Gabe, Owen and Skyler.


Ted is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Vernon and Craig Ceryes.


Ted will be laid to rest next to his wife Barbara Gayle at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday September 27th 2025 at Oneota Cemetery 6403 Highland Street Duluth MN. There will be a small service by Father Kunst from St. James Catholic Church and an Honor Guard Salute. 


We would like to thank all the nurses at St. Lukes Home Care for all of their love and care,  especially Leah!  They had taken such great care of our Dad!
