Charles Herman Zellmann Obituary
Charles Herman Zellmann was born on a farm near Norwood Young America, Minnesota on March 8, 1937 to Carl and Alice (Wischnack) Zellmann. He was baptized March 28, 1937. His education began in a one-room school house. Charles attended St. John's Lutheran School for 7th and 8th grade. Charles was confirmed March 18, 1951. The confirmation verse he chose was John 10: 27-28. Charles attended Central High School in Norwood Young America where he played baseball, football and was on the yearbook staff. He graduated high school 1955.
Charles worked at National Foods in Hopkins in their advertising department where he helped design the store ads and signs. Later he was given the chance to learn computers. Many folks from the Norwood Young America area carpooled to their jobs in Hopkins. Charles had one of those carpools. One day he gave Eunice Buckentin, from Hamburg, MN, a ride. Charles and Eunice were married October 7, 1961 and were blessed with two daughters, Kimberly and Kristine. They first lived in Hopkins and later moved to St. Louis Park. His next job was at Rapid Merchandising Sandell in Minneapolis. Charles's last place of employment was with Gabbert's Furniture where he was their data processing manager for 30 years.
Charles was an avid sports fans. He enjoyed watching the Gophers, Lynx, Timberwolves, Twins, and Vikings on television. He loved to draw and paint. Charles loved nature and enjoyed watching the birds. Charles loved being at the family cabin. His favorite place to be was fishing off the dock and watching the sun set. He enjoyed playing cards, especially sheephead, with family and friends. Charles was always there to help family, friends, and neighbors.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Alice Zellmann; brother and sister-in-law Earl and Esther Zellmann, sister Diane Zellmann; brother-in-law Noel Beneke; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Esther Buckentin.
Charles is survived by his loving family: wife Eunice; daughters Kimberly and Kristine; sister Carolyn Beneke; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie Schwartz (Kenny); brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gene Buckentin (Sandy); nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
