In Loving Memory of Bill Wilson
With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved Bill Wilson passed away on September 10, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. Though his passing leaves great sadness for all who knew him, Bill’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, adventure, and joy.
Born on April 3, 1956, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Jeanette (Gardonio) and William Wilson, Bill grew up with a strong sense of family and community. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1974 and went on to build a successful career as a financial manager with Churchill Management Group.
In Duluth, Minnesota, Bill met the love of his life, Helen Viezbicke, who is from Virginia, Minnesota. Together, they built a marriage filled with adventure, traveling the world side by side and forming lifelong friendships wherever they went. Bill was passionate about the outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, sailing, or boating—and his love for baseball remained a constant joy throughout his life.
Above all, Bill’s greatest pride and happiness came from his family. He cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, and he was deeply devoted to the relationships he shared with family and friends. He was forever grateful to Allison and Theo Schimper for their loving care of grandson Finley. Bill’s kindness, warmth, and laughter will always be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his two sons, Michael (Cheyenne) and their daughter Layla, and Andrew and his daughter Madison (Paige Hitchcock, Madison’s mother); his brother, Paul (Pam) Wilson; his sister, Claudia Wilson (Brent Kauth); and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, Minnesota, (952-924-4100). In honor of his memory, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
The Wilson family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the University of Minnesota Transplant Team for their many years of care, support, and compassion.
