David P. Schmitt passed away peacefully at home in Rosemount, MN, surrounded by family on September 14, 2025, at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, Dave built lasting friendships with his passion for life, humor, and compassion. Dave was preceded in death by son, Adam; father, Warren; mother, Peggy; brothers, Michael and Douglas; sister, Mary Claire; sister-in-law, Jayne. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of 50 years; children Casie (Adam), and Cody (Amy Hoover); granddaughter, Elodie; brothers, Jeffrey (Debbie), Bradley (Gail), Richard (Diane), Gregory (Jeanne) and Christopher (Kelly); numerous nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
