Dianne Elizabeth Matthews

December 15, 1966 – August 13, 2025

Dianne E. Matthews, age 58, of Saint Paul, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes.

Born on December 15, 1966, in Long Beach, California, Dianne became a true Saint Paul girl at the age of six. She grew up in the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood, attended Central High School, and later raised her two daughters in Highland Park. Her career in the grocery industry spanned more than three decades.

She is survived by her mother, Marlys St. Martin; sisters, Terri Wokasch and Trisha Freiberger (Steve); daughters, Lacie Matthews (Spencer) and Amanda Matthews-Hine (Alex); and granddaughters, Thea and Isla Hine.

Dianne was a lifelong Vikings fan who could light up any room with her storytelling, quick wit, and uncanny ability to quote nearly any movie or TV show. She will be remembered for her humor, kindness, love of animals, and fierce independence—always determined to live life on her own terms. Above all, she was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was raising two daughters who carry forward her strength, warmth, and spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 1979 Old Hudson Road, Saint Paul, MN 55119.
