Amy Beth Larson

Amy Beth Larson, 64, Lauderdale, Minnesota, died unexpectedly on May 8, 2025. Amy was born on June 4, 1960, to Donald and Shirley Larson in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Amy is survived by her dad, Donald C Larson, Jasper GA; sisters, Sue Butler, Nashville TN, Carrie Larson, Jasper GA, Denise Larson-Fischer, Orlando, FL and Doreen (Reid) Anderson, Lakeville, MN; nieces and nephews, Kristy, Rory, Chad, Brett, Jenny, Eric, Leilani, Heidi, Kevin, Rachel, Heather, General Jr, and Nichole; grand nieces and nephews, Ryan Alayna, Chelsey, Sylvia, Madison, Teddy, Juliette, Gwen, Brooke, Arianna, Piper, Karin, Kevin Jr, Adeline and Nyla

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley and her brother in laws, General Butler and Rick Fischer and her nephew, Travis Copeland.

Amy attended Poplar Bridge Elementary School, Penn Junior High and Graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School class of 1978 in Bloomington, MN. She also attended Normandale Community College and the University of Minnesota. She was of the Lutheran Faith.

Amy was employed at USI Insurance Services. She was a dedicated employee and enjoyed her work there.  She will be missed dearly by her work family. 

Amy’s earlier career including Norwest Bank, Northwest Airlines (Republic) and part time at Byerlys for over 10 years.

Her beloved and treasured pets throughout her life were her dogs, Kesha, Simon, Tony, Bridget, Andie, and Misty.  Her horses, Electra, Ellie, Atom, and Wild Fire.  Amy’s very first pet was Rocky her cockatiel. Amy also had many pet cats at various times.   

Amy’s true passion was her teaching dog obedience and agility training as well as organizing and running dog shows at South Paws Canine Academy. She also in the past participated in horse and dog shows.

Amy had a heart of gold always giving to others including opening her home up to her nieces Kristy and Leilani and their children and all dogs/cats/horses in need of a home.       

A celebration of Amy’s life will be held at Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

In honor of Amy’s love for animals’ donations can be made in Amy’s name to Saving Shepherds of MN or any animal rescue of your choice.
