Nicholas Andrew Strom, 39, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025.

Nick is survived by his wife, Sara; son, Chase; parents, Deb and Eric; brother, Tony, and sister-in-law, Emily; nieces and nephew, Lillian, Vivian, and Jackson. Nick was known as an amazing father, a devoted dog dad, a fun uncle, and a dedicated family man. His family will miss him deeply for his witty humor, quick banter, incredible intelligence, and unwavering loyalty. His adoring sidekick, Frito, was faithfully at his side until the very end.

Nick built a distinguished career in biomedical engineering, dedicating more than 15 years to advancing medical device research and development. After earning his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, he began his career at St. Jude Medical/Abbott Laboratories, where he contributed to groundbreaking tools in electrophysiology and cardiac care. Most recently, Nick served as Principal Engineer in R&D at Philips, where he led projects in structural heart and interfacing tools. His colleagues admired his sharp mind, steady leadership, and dedication to improving patients’ lives.

Outside of work, Nick had a mechanical mind that could tackle any old motor or house project imaginable. He enjoyed gaming, and was also a talented pianist and gardener. Above all else, he loved fishing—during any season, in any weather. Warm, sunny beach vacations were also a high priority for him, with Ixtapa, Mexico holding a special place in his heart through multiple memorable trips.
