Suzanne Lucille "Sue" Cavanaugh Obituary
Suzanne Lucille Cavanaugh (May) of Prior Lake was born on May 19, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN and passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on September 11, 2025, at age 79. Sue is survived by sisters Georgia McNeely and Nancy Tarlton (Dwayne), two daughters, Alisa Manni (Steve), and Aileen Wagner, and honorary daughter Dr. Leah Faudskar (Woody Enerson), granddaughters Amber Toutge (Andrew) and Autumn Burton (Nathan), grandson Drew Wagner and granddog Walker, stepchildren Colleen Peterson, Scott Cavanaugh (Traci), Patrick Cavanaugh (Jane), step-grandchildren Ryan Peterson, Shaun Peterson (Jillian), Alexander (Hillary), and Kaylie (Dylan), Nicholas, Kiersten (Jake), Katelyn (Michael) along with 4 step-great grandchildren, wonderful nieces and nephews and first husband Donald Winter. Sue was welcomed into heaven by parents George and Dorothy May, sister Barbara Faudskar, brother-in-law Arvid Faudskar, and beloved husband Ronald A. Cavanaugh.
Sue retired from the Bloomington school district after 34 years of teaching. During retirement she and Ron loved to travel and spend time at their lake home in Park Rapids. Sue was a very active member at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon. Sue was a gift to many including “The 6 pack from Island Lake”, the Mexican Train ladies, her quilting group and neighbors of Regal Crest. Her relationships with family and friends were precious to Sue as she shared her time and talents with all.
A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove Presbyterian church on Saturday, September 20th with visitation beginning at 9:30am, service at 11am, followed by a church luncheon. The service will be livestreamed at oakgrv.org.
