With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Jon Weis, age 85, on September 2, 2025, in Edina, MN. 

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on August 25, 1940, in Mankato, MN, he proudly served in the Marine Corps. He married Marjean in 1964, and together they recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. Michael worked at Control Data Corporation for 25 years, Target Corporation for 12 years and finished his career at the Veterans Administration, helping fellow Veterans. He was a passionate health enthusiast who loved nature walks and bird watching. His interests also included reading, painting, pottery, and photography. He dedicated time to volunteering at St. Patrick’s Church with Marjean.  

Those closest to him remember Michael for his hard work, kindness, generosity, and quick wit, but most of all for being a wonderful husband, father, and provider. He will be deeply missed.  

He is survived by his wife, Marjean Weis; daughter, Angela Weis; sons, Thomas, and Timothy Weis; and grandchildren Dominique, Grant, Mia, and Timothy. He was predeceased by sons Christopher and Douglas Weis, his mother, Helen Foley, his father Douglas Weis, and sister JoAnne Kocur. 

A funeral service will be held on September 24, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Edina, MN at 11:00 am with a reception to follow. A private burial service will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery for close family and friends.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or Alzheimer's Association. The family deeply appreciates your kind thoughts and support during this difficult time.
