Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Dwyer, 77, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, passed away on August 25th, 2025. Born on October 7th, 1947, in Little Falls, Minnesota.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Kathy grew up in Little Falls with her father, mother and two brothers and a sister.  She attended grade school at St. Francis, an all girls catholic school.  In her teenage years, she volunteered at the Morrison County Jail (where her father, John Edward Stack, was the sheriff) helping taking care of the temporarily incarcerated.

After high school graduation, she attended college at Bemidji State University in Minnesota, where she earned a degree in sociology and met he love of her life, Joseph Dwyer. After college, she became a social worker and became Kathy Dwyer on May 27th, 1972.

Kathy was a stay-at-home mom to her two children and once they were both in school, she became a paraprofessional in the Osseo School District and remained in this position until she retired.

During their fifty-two years together, Kathy and Joe enjoyed spending time at their lake front cabin, participating in meat raffles, and spoiling their grandchildren. Kathy loved Minnesota history and enjoyed crocheting blankets for friends and family. For most of her life, she had cats and her most recent was Cindy, an aloof Calico Persian who, after Joe’s passing,  Kathy lovingly surrendered to a speciality pure bred cat rescue.  

Kathy is preceded in death by mother, Mary Agnes, her father, John Edward and most recently, her beloved Joe. She is survived by daughter Colleen Groebner nee Dwyer (Steve) and son Steven Dwyer (Monica), grandchildren Liam, Brigid and bonus grandchild Sebastian. Brothers Robert and Edward Stack of St.Cloud and Jean Kunkel also of St. Cloud and many nieces and nephews.

We find comfort in knowing Kathy’s legacy lives on in the memories of her family and friends. As per her request, there will be no celebration of life or funeral. However, there will be a graveside ceremony which will be open to all at a yet to be determined date.
