Patrick N. Murphy (Murph) Obituary
Patrick N. Murphy (Murph), 78, of Oakdale, MN died Wednesday Aug 28, 2025, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed.
Patrick was born January 12, 1947 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to William and Dorothy Korn Murphy.
He worked and retired from Union Pacific Railways as Track Maintenance and Track Maintenance planner.
Patrick always said he had a good life; his family, his faith, many dear friends and 3 very special passions. Those were AA, Music and Tennis. He was a proud member of AA for 44 years and enjoyed helping and mentoring others. He started out at a young age learning to play the guitar and eventually added singing and songwriting to his skills (he even has a record out). He loved playing even into retirement where he still jammed with friends whenever he could. Also, his tennis. He played tennis for years; earning multiple rewards and continued playing with one group of special friends until recently.
Patrick is survived by wife Peggy Lyons, his sons, Shawn Murphy (Mary) of Post Falls, Idaho, Nicky Murphy of Eau Clair, Wisc., sister, Kathy Goettl of Chippewa Falls, Wisc., and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings, Billie Parker, Marilyn Bowman, Carol Krejcarek, Colleen Bleskey and Michael Murphy.
A special thank you to MN Maplewood Oncology, Allina Hospice, family and friends who helped us throughout this journey.
