She was born on November 21, 1934 to Earl and Florence (McCullough) Donnohue in Duluth Minnesota, the second of three children.  She graduated from Denfeld High School in Duluth in 1953.

Darlene lived in several different cities during her life.  She was known as a hard worker,  working at technology companies such as Aveonics, Control Data in the Twin Cities and as a skilled meat cutter, working well into her 70’s.  She retired to fort Mohave Arizona where she lived until 2023 when she returned to spend her final years in Duluth.

She married Clarence William (Bill) Clark in December of 1967, and was his partner in many entrepreneurial businesses, owning several hospitality establishments in Duluth and the Twin Cities.  They were partners for 48 years until his death in 2015.

She is survived by her sister Laurie Donnohue-Skow, her sons John Benson (Kathryn) of Duluth MN and Robert Benson (Jan Karnes) of Long Prairie MN, her daughter Debbie Aulwes (Liam Haeuser) of Red Wing MN, ten grandchildren, 15 great-grand children, and one great-great grand child.
