Patricia Ann (Herteen) Huggins passed away on August 19, 2025 after a brief illness.  Patti was born November 2, 1941 to Lionel and Daisy Herteen in Bloomfield, Iowa.  She married Ronald Huggins in 1957, her partner for 67 years.  Ron and Patti raised their family in Des Moines, Iowa and also resided in Annapolis Maryland, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Bloomington, Minnesota.

In addition to her husband, Ron, Patti is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Doug) Long, grandchildren Morgan (Mohamed Sayed) Long and Alli (Scott) Brown, three great grandchildren, Malcolm, Archer and Quinn, her sister Judy Salvaggio and many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Douglas Huggins, and three siblings, Phillip, Phylis and Donald.

Patti was a farm girl who loved to garden, shop, play tennis, be a grandma and bake.  She loved holidays, particularly baking and distributing her signature delicious treats far and wide to family and friends.  She was famous for her fudge, chocolate chip and sugar cookies.  

Patti traveled around the world, but loved London, England most of all, where her son, Douglas, resided for over 20 years before his death in 2006.  Douglas’s friends became her and Ron’s great friends and second family. She and Ron become fixtures in Camden over the many years they visited and made a home in Douglas’s flat.

Patti will forever be remembered as a generous and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Celebrations of Patti’s life will take place in West Grove, Iowa on September 20, 2025 at 2:00 pm at West Grove Crossroads Church, 21944 Echo Avenue, West Grove, Iowa and in London, England on October 18, 2025.
