Gerald Marc Cartier (Jerry), 73, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025. Born in Duluth, MN, on September 21, 1951. He had lived in Bloomington, MN for many years. Jerry leaves behind his beloved family, Judy Yaeger Cartier, and stepchildren, Jason Yaeger (Deb) and Jennae Lambkin, grandchildren Frank, Charlotte, Leo and Ren. His brothers and sisters, Sandy Laflamme (Roger), John Cartier (Vivian), Jan Bourgeaut (Bob), Tom Cartier (Patty), and Deb Logergren (Gary) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Cartier, his sister Joan Cartier, and stepdaughter Jessica Yaeger-Bluma.

Jerry's greatest gift was his big heart. He was kind and very generous to everyone he met. He loved to tell a good story, but was also a wonderful listener. Jerry was always there to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors and friends. Jerry's greatest joy was his family. A smile on Judy's face was always his goal. He loved to spend summers in Wabasha at his condo on the river. He was an excellent boat captain, always making sure everyone aboard was having a good time. He also loved to drive his golf cart around town. He made sure to buy one big enough to fit all 4 grandchildren so he could take them to get ice cream. He was thrilled every time he heard those little voices say "Jerry, can we go for a ride on the golf cart?" He would do anything to make the kids happy, and he loved every minute of it.

Jerry also loved his career in the insurance business, never wanting to retire. It gave him the opportunity to talk to someone new every day. His ability to talk to anyone and truly connect with people made his career very successful. He also worked with many wonderful people at North Risk Partners. They were more than colleagues to Jerry; they were friends. Jerry worked from home for the last few years but recently went into the office and received an exceptionally warm welcome. It brought him great joy to see everyone he worked with, and he came home with the biggest smile on his face.

Jerry was truly one of a kind. His love and generosity knew no bounds. He cared for many people in his lifetime, and was loved deeply in return. He approached life with strength, courage, and selflessness - always putting the needs of others before his own. He will be dearly missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held on September 20th at the Cremation Society of MN. 7110 France Ave, S, Edina, MN 55435. A tribute to Jerry starts at 12:00pm, followed by a light lunch.
