Gayle V. (Johnson) Thorson, 80, of Rogers, MN passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer.  Gayle graduated from Gary (MN) High School in 1963 as salutatorian of her class.  She then relocated to the Twin Cities with her soon-to-be husband, Dan; they were married on December 26, 1964.  Together they raised two children at their home in Rogers, MN where Gayle enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and neighbors.  Gayle worked in the office industry at companies such as Farnham’s Printing and Office Supply, IDS, and ultimately retired after many years at North Star Title in 2010.  Gayle will be remembered for her joyful laughter and love for her grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dan Thorson; parents Emery and Bernice Johnson; infant twin sons; brother Peter Johnson; sister Kyle Joppru; mother-in-law Vangie Thorson; father-in-law Forrest Thorson; brothers-in-law Verle Rasmussen and Ron Thorson; and nephew Tom Johnson. Survived by son Jeff (Marie) Thorson; daughter Amy (Patrick) Hahn; grandchildren Abby, Brody, Preston, Lauren; brother Wendell (Penny) Johnson; sisters Carolyn Rasmussen, Nancy (Roger) Houg; in-laws, Don Joppru, David and Jeannie Thorson, Tom Thorson, Jim and Kim Thorson; many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.  Special thank you to Guardian Angels By the Lake and the Triniti Hospice team.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM with visitation an hour before at Word of Peace Lutheran Church, 21705 129th Ave N, Rogers, MN  55374.
