Ronald Selinsky Obituary

In Loving Memory of Ronald Selinsky

October 18, 1945 – June 25, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Selinsky, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son and friend, who left us on June 25, 2025, at the age of 79.

Ron was born on October 18, 1945, to Hazel (Stanchfield) and Joseph Selinsky. He grew up in Minneapolis Minnesota and graduated from Patrick Henry High School, where his wit and warmth began to leave an impression on everyone he met. Shortly after, Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany—a time he often spoke of with pride and fondness.

Following his service, Ron later embarked on a long career with Local IATSE 13, a job that brought him behind the scenes of countless concerts, shows, and his favorite-Timberwolves games! Years of working left him with an extensive collection of concert T-shirts and backstage passes, he loved sharing stories about the celebrities he met and the encounters he had over the years.

While he loved the thrill of the backstage life, Ron’s true joy was his family. He is survived by his loving daughters, Andrea Jensen (and her husband Steve) and Morgan Manning (and her husband Andrew). He was a devoted grandfather to Akayla, Alayna, Lily, Christian, and Colton, and a cherished great-grandfather to Aleah and Hazel. He also leaves behind his younger brother Rick Selinsky. Ron is preceded in death by his parents Hazel and Joe, and his eldest brother, Gary.

Ron had a heart as big as his presence. He was, in every sense, a big teddy bear—soft-hearted, affectionate, and endlessly loving. With his signature “Hi sweetie,” he welcomed family with open arms and open heart, always reminding them how much they meant to him. There was never a moment of doubt that his daughters and grandchildren were the center of his world.

He loved, cheering (and sometimes cursing) the Minnesota Vikings and was known to say well there is always next year after a loss (even if it was the first game of the season). He enjoyed escaping the brutal Minnesota winters in the warmth of Costa Rica. His sense of humor was as unforgettable as his kindness!

Ron was deeply loved by many. His legacy lives on in the laughter, stories, and memories he leaves behind. We will carry his spirit with us always.

We will never forget you, Dad. Your love, your voice, your stories, and your presence will forever live on in all of us who loved you. Until we meet again.
