Michael Eckhart

September 4, 1959 - June 28, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Eckhart, age 65, on June 28, 2025, in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Born on September 4, 1959, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Michael lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family.

A proud graduate of the University of Iowa, Michael went on to have a distinguished career with the federal government, where he worked for many years as a Border Protection Agent.

Michael was a beloved father to three children: Kelsey, Adam (Sydney) and Abigail. A proud grandfather to Porter & Charlie Eckhart. He is also survived by his partner, Stacey Manahan, as well as his siblings, Marjie (Mark) Kopp and Marc (Julie) Eckhart. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean Eckhart, whose love and guidance shaped him into the man he was.

A man of strong values, Michael's family meant the world to him. His laughter, wisdom, and stubbornness will be greatly missed by all who knew him. While his presence may no longer be with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
