Steve was born on August 10, 1951 In Anoka MN and passed on June 20,2025. Preceded in death by parents, Jim and Ruth Zimdars. Survived by his wonderful and caring wife of 52 years, Jan, son Aaron, daughter Jill, grandchildren Alexa and Morgaine, brother John (Judy), sisters Jeanne Raymond (Ric) and Sharon and numerous other in-laws and relatives.

The family moved to South Minneapolis where he spent his childhood, spending many happy days swimming and fishing in Lake Harriet. After graduating high school in 1969 he attended the U of M, graduating in 1973 with a degree in business education. Steve and Jan were married in the fall of 1973.  He spent over 20 years working for Hennepin County in their child support division.

He loved movies, puzzles and playing cards with family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He is now at peace and running free.

Service will be held at Redeemer Covenant Church, 7801 Brooklyn Blvd. Brooklyn Park MN on July 7th at 11am with visitation starting at 10. In lieu of flowers or memorials, please consider a donation to the National MS Society.
