Margaret Kay Anderson, affectionately known as Micky and Mom, passed away on June 23, 2025, surrounded by her family at Hennepin County Medical Center at the age of 69. Born on December 28, 1955, in Clarkfield, MN, Micky lived a life full of love, humor and warmth to those around her.

A Life Well Lived

Micky’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and devotion to her family. Micky married the love of her life, Al, on December 20, 1975. Together, they moved across the country, living in places like Richmond, VA, and Burnsville, MN, before settling in Cottonwood, MN, where they raised their beloved sons, Tyler and Tanner. Micky’s heart was always full, especially for her grandchildren. She poured her love into each of them, creating a home of warmth and endless fun.

Micky’s vibrant personality shone through her love for celebrations and gatherings, where she always brought joy to every occasion. From her Halloween parties filled with playful frights to impromptu get-togethers that stretched into entertaining late nights of storytelling, she transformed ordinary moments into unforgettable ones. Her passion for horror movies and her knack for orchestrating amusing scares reflected her lively, fun-loving spirit.

Family and Loved Ones

Micky is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 50 years, Alan, and their dogs, Rico and Gia. Her legacy continues through her beloved sons: Tyler (Maria), with their children, Elliott and Landon; and Tanner (Elsie), with their children Kayln, Raiden, Levi, Cameron, and Hartley. She is also survived by her siblings, Sheila, Mailen (Alane), Myron, and Nola (Ross). Alongside her immediate family, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews who brought her great joy. Among them, her Goddaughter Kari Ann held a special place in her heart – not only as family, but as her closest friend.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to LifeSource Organ Donation in her honor.

She will be remembered for her joyful celebrations, creative spirit, deep devotion to her family, and the countless memories she created with those she cherished. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of her loved ones, carrying her legacy of kindness and love forward. May she rest in peace, forever beloved and never forgotten.
