With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Jalm Redlin Pemberton-Young, age 51, of Red Wing, Minnesota. Jalm was born in Minneapolis on December 9, 1973, and graduated high school in Houston, Texas. A lifelong learner, she earned her Master’s Degree from MCTC/AI Community College.

Jalm was a gifted entrepreneur and the proud owner of Boxrud’s Consignment and Jump The Broom Wedding Boutique in Red Wing, MN. Known for her warm heart and powerful voice, she was a dedicated community advocate and faith-based activist, deeply involved in uplifting those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Young, daughter Ahja Avery, and stepchildren Anita, Lorenzo, Alexis, Devonte, Thomas Jr., Diamond, and Sparkle. She was a proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Donna (Dede) Sandberg and Angie Sandberg.

Jalm was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Pemberton and Joyce Redlin-Pemberton, and by Carl Sandberg and Donna Sandberg.

Jalm’s legacy is one of faith, family, and fierce love. She will be remembered always for her strength, her joy, and her enduring commitment to serving others.
