Warren Lind Obituary

Warren W. Lind, 78, of Two Harbors, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Lake View Hospital with his family by his side.


 


Warren was born February 9, 1947, in Two Harbors to Roy and Pearl (Hill) Lind. He lived his early years in Castle Danger, then spent part of his childhood in Ely, Minnesota living with his aunt and uncle Olga and Larry Ferderber. He graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1966, and then proudly enlisted in the US Army, serving in the Vietnam War. After returning from Vietnam, he worked at Reserve Mining in Silver Bay, working in several roles throughout his career before retiring as a supervisor in 2007.


He married Maxene Magnuson on February 21, 1970 at United Church in Two Harbors and attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church.


Warren loved being outdoors and spending his free time with his family picking agates, exploring gravel pits, watching storms on Lake Superior, going to the family cabin, fishing, hunting, golfing, and watching the birds. He was an avid photographer and loved taking candid photos at family gatherings, as well as photographing nature. He was a long-distance runner and he completed both the Twin Cities Marathon and Grandma’s Marathon. He proudly passed all of these interests on to his children. Warren loved his entire family and his friends deeply, and he was well-loved by everyone who knew him.


He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maxene; children, Jim (Sharon) Lind of Two Harbors and Lisa (Mike) Weispfenning of Washburn, WI; grandchildren, Charles, Calvin, and Roland; siblings, Ronnie, Joan, Donna, Diane, and Mike; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.


Warren is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Merlin, Russell, and LeRoger, and sister, Susie Oney.


A Memorial service with Military Honors will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11 AM Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors with visitation one hour prior.  Burial will take place at a later date.


 


Arrangements entrusted to the Cremation Society in Duluth.
