PETERSON, Glynn Karen, age 74, of Champlin, passed away June 15, 2025. If you knew Glynn, you knew how special she was. Beyond her professional achievements and adventurous spirit, Glynn was known for her warmth, generosity, and steadfast support of her family. She cherished moments spent with her nieces, nephews, and their children—whether offering guidance, sharing stories from her travels, or simply being a comforting presence at family gatherings. Her sense of humor and curiosity about the world inspired those around her to embrace new experiences and value lifelong learning.
Glynn achieved a Masters degree in Food Science from the University of Minnesota and later a BS in Executive Management. She was hired out of college by General Mills where she excelled. General Mills moved her to Boston MA to head quality control at Gorton’s Seafood. She later transitioned to quality control management at a Boston Deli. Thereafter she moved to Atlanta GA where she absolutely loved the warmer weather and developed many wonderful friendships. She transitioned professions at that time into insurance with Primerica where she received many honors.
Glynn loved living in Georgia and prospered there even as her health was fading; eventually making the decision to retire. She would regularly attend church and was always grateful when her good friend and neighbor would drive them. Glynn very much enjoyed the fellowship at her church in Canton Georgia. She eventually moved to Canton Hills Assisted Living where Bible study groups were a great comfort. Thereafter she moved back home to Minnesota in late 2023 to be closer to family.
Glynn enjoyed many hobbies over the years such as cross-country skiing, horseback riding, and participating in road rallies with her former spouse, Steve. She at one time owned a sailboat on the Atlantic. She also traveled throughout the country, Europe, and the Caribbean including St. John's.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Joycelyn Peterson (Howard); Sisters Wendy Olson and Julie Wetterlind. She is survived by Sister Pamela Peterson; Brother-in-law Rick Olson; Brother-in-law Jeff Wetterlind; Brother Jeff (Sue) Peterson; Brother Gregory Peterson; twenty-five nephew and nieces, Rick (Jennifer), Karen, Kathleen (Barry), Michael (Jessica), Bobby (Becky), Amy (Mike), Joshua, Kelsey (Ioannis), Emily, Sarah, Danielle (Mike), Eric (Alyssia), Joshua (Jenna), Ben, Vincent, and Taylor.
