Shirley Miller-Scroggins, a woman of unwavering faith and steadfast love, went to her eternal home in heaven on June 16, 2025, at the age of 85. She passed peacefully, now pain-free in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Born on April 26, 1940, in Hastings, MN, to Harold and Leona Ruhr, Shirley grew up in Red Wing, MN, alongside her sister Marlen Nickel and brother Robert Ruhr. It was there she developed her profound character and gentle spirit.
Shirley found enduring love with her first husband, Curt Miller, with whom she raised two devoted children, Tammy and Tim. Following Curt's passing, she found immense joy and companionship with her second husband, Noble Scroggins.
Her life was a testament to her deep love for God, exemplified by her remarkable 35-year career with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. She passionately embraced opportunities to witness and share the power of prayer, her faith serving as the foundational essence of her existence and continuously enriching her connections with others.
Shirley is lovingly remembered by her children: Tammy Sheldon and her husband Gene, and Tim Miller and his wife Kris. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Sarah & Brad Rahn, Stacy Holmes, and Seth & Beth Miller, and four beautiful great-grandchildren: Dakota, Peter, John Rahn, and Emmarie Miller.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at Lexington Point in Eagan, MN, for the extraordinary passion, love, and care that brought Shirley immense comfort and joy.
A verse dear to Shirley's heart, and often shared by her late husband Curt, was Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Shirley's legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
