Craig Franklin Pederson Obituary
Craig Franklin Pederson was born on July 9, 1966 in Inglewood, California. He was raised in Watertown, South Dakota and graduated from Watertown High School in 1984. After graduating high school, he joined the army and bravely served, stationing in South Korea. He returned to South Dakota and earned a bachelor’s degree in the Arts and Elementary Education.
Craig was taken from us too soon on June 8, 2025. Craig is survived and will forever be sadly missed by his loving wife Kristy M Pederson, daughter and son-in-law, of whom he was so proud – Rachel and Colton Hanson; along with his precious grandchildren Lincoln, Scarlett, Oliver and Hazel, and his stepson Dakota Martin and Dakota’s children, Harrison and Simon. He also leaves behind his loving mother, LaFaun Pederson, his siblings, Mark (Carol) Pederson, Mike (Sandy) Pederson, Dan (Barb) Pederson, Dave ( Jennifer) Pederson, Jennifer (Tony) Rosenberg, Curt (Janell) Pederson and many nieces and nephews who he loved as his own.
Greeting Craig in Heaven were those who came before him - his father, Dennis Pederson, and grandparents.
Craig’s friends were an extension of his family. Craig had many dear friends that blessed his life and brought joy to his journey. His family is forever grateful for each and every one of them.
Craig was a fun-loving person who embraced joy and adventure everywhere he went. His main passion that he followed throughout his whole life was wrestling. He coached his kid brother Curt throughout his high school career and enjoyed coaching from South Dakota and Minnesota to Texas. He especially enjoyed coaching his granddaughter, Scarlett, and watching his niece, Peyton. He also loved his guitars and playing with family and friends.
Craig’s grandchildren were his greatest joy. He loved spending time with them and watching them grow. His love of life will continue through their laughter and smiles - the greatest legacy of a loving father and grandfather.
Craig’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at one of his favorite places in this world, his cabin, 45670 338th Lane, Aitkin, MN 56431. Immediately following, his family (and friends) will stay to celebrate his life and share campfire stories. Pulled Pork and a light meal will be provided. Please bring your own beverages and camp chairs. All family and friends are welcome to stay and share their stories of our dear Craig.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Mille Lacs Raiders Wrestling Club, whom Craig was an assistant coach for many years. Please send checks to:

“When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And every time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me, I’ll be right here in your heart.”
