Mark O. Krueger

Aged 76, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Mark passed away at home on June 10, 2025, of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was a model of kindness, generosity, with a sparkle that endeared him to people everywhere. If you knew Mark, you know how special he was.

Mark was born in Powell, Wyoming to Clarence and Marilynne (Miracle) Krueger. He attended school in Texas and Ohio before graduating from high school in Hood River, Oregon. He held an astonishing number of jobs in his itinerant youth and eventually graduated with honors from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He went on to earn a law degree from William Mitchell (now Mitchell Hamline) School of Law in Saint Paul, MN in 1986. He worked as an attorney for the Zelle & Larson law firm, Travelers Insurance Company, and Minnesota Lawyers Mutual.

Mark was a faithful, involved member of Hamline Church United Methodist in Saint Paul, where he held several leadership and finance positions. He may be best remembered for his commitment to Hamline Dining Hall at the Minnesota State Fair. His caring leadership, positive presence, and boundless energy were loved by volunteers of all ages.

He was a devoted husband to Linda (Armstrong) Krueger and father to Ben (Yasser Ibarra) and Meg (Micaela Bagley). He delighted in being Grandpa to Louisa Bagley, age 2.

In addition to his wife and children, Mark is survived by his brother William Kent Krueger (Diane), his sister Margaret McKinney, brothers in law Howard (Fran) Armstrong and Dave (Jane) Armstrong, and sisters in law Nancy Dunn, Jane Wilke, and Kathryn Armstrong, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He will be interred at Silver Ridge Cemetery in Dixon County, Nebraska.

The family wishes to thank Allina Hospice for their excellent support that allowed us to care for Mark at home during his long illness.

A memorial service will be held on July 12, 2025, at Hamline Church United Methodist, Saint Paul, MN. The family will be present for visitation at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00, and a luncheon after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hamline Church, 1514 Englewood Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55104, or Allina Health Foundation, 3915 Golden Valley Road, Minneapolis, MN 55422.
