Linda Mary Petri (née Veesenmeyer) passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born on January 14, 1948, in Saint Paul, Linda graduated magna cum laude from Archbishop Murray High School in 1966. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota in 1973 and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas in 1975.
Linda began her teaching career at Nicollet Junior High in Burnsville and later taught at Forest Lake Junior High. She also coached girls' volleyball and softball, sharing her love of sports and mentorship with students, until a stroke prevented her from continuing.
Though her health challenges impacted many aspects of her life, Linda’s love for her daughters, Amanda and Molly, was unwavering. She was endlessly proud of them.
That same enduring love and strength shaped every part of her life. Linda was a bright, driven, and determined woman, passionate about travel, sports, gardening, and games. Her gregarious, resilient, courageous, and fiercely independent spirit touched all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murph and Florence; her brothers, Bill and Tom; and her sister, Rosemary.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Amanda and Molly Petri; her brother, Danny (Bonnie) Veesenmeyer; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
