On May 28, 2025, Karen Childs peacefully passed away and is with our Lord and Savior.

Karen was born on May 22, 1939 in Duluth, MN, the second child, to Alger and Gertrude Myhre. Karen grew up in the church and loved her church family. She was a charter member of Mount of Olives Baptist Church for 59 years. She had a true gift for serving others.

Karen valued time spent with her family, and loved to find laughter and joy every day. Throughout her lifetime, Karen was found camping with Jack or socializing with her family or “club” friends from elementary school. She loved sharing pictures and memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John (Jack) Childs, her sister Marilyn Busse, and her son Randy Childs.

Karen is survived by her 3 children: Rodger (Cindy) Childs, Robin (Doug) Peterson, and Renee (David) Bartlam. She has 7 grandchildren: Stephanie, Tanya, Katie, Becky, Chelsae, Jack and Brett. She also has 15 cherished great-grandchildren.

Karen’s servant heart, love for her family and friends, and joy for life will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on June 6th, at The Landing Church 9302 W Skyline Pkwy, Duluth, MN 55810. Visitation at 11:00, Service at 12:00.
