Obituary of Gerald Wilkens

Age 80, of Plymouth, formerly of Brooklyn Park and Parkers Prairie passed away one day after his 80th birthday on June 6, 2025. Proudly served in the US Navy. Longtime employee of NSP/ Xcel Energy as an electrician for 33 years. After retirement he stayed very active, with the Literacy Program through the public schools. Preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Vera and 3 sisters. He will be missed by his wife of 55 years, Mary; children, Amy (Jerry) Crary and Steve (Heather) Wilkens; grandchildren, Alex, Samuel, and Brynn; siblings, Charles (Linda) and Patsy Jones and extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 29th at Valley Community Presbyterian Church, 3100 Lilac Dr N, Golden Valley, MN 55422 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
