Obituary of Lenore Westermann

Lenore Westermann (Morin), age 84, passed away on March 21, 2025 surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 2, 1940 to Charles and Helen Pearson. She graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School in 1958. Lenore was a homemaker, she worked as a nurse at Viewcrest Nursing Home for many years. Lenore enjoyed traveling, playing cards, baking and spending time at the lake with her family. Her rock candy, caramels, and baked goods were a treasured tradition every Christmas.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert J. Morin, sister Joan Nading, twin sister Lorraine Minter and brother-in-law Leslie Minter, brother Donald Pearson and sisters-in-law Jeanne Pearson & Patricia Pearson, brother-in-law James W. Morin and nephew Patrick Pearson.

Lenore is survived by her husband Lloyd Westermann, son Douglas (Renee) Morin, daughters Wendy and Jane Morin, grandchildren Chad (Holly) Izzard, Nicholas Havron, and Dane (Alyson) Morin, brother Robert (Carol) Pearson, brother-in-law Robert Nading, sister-in-law Elizabeth Morin, Lloyd’s children Scott (Cathy) Westermann, Terry (Robyn) Westermann, grandchildren Tad (Sarah)Westermann, Ashley (Troy) Szostak, Zachary (Brittney) Westermann, 9 great grandchildren, brother-in-law Lyle (Susan) Westermann and sister-in-law Lovice Gasner (Charlie Stakem).

A very special “Thank You” to nephew Les Minter Jr. and niece Amy Kemp for their loving support throughout the years and to the Essentia Hospice Care Team for their professtional, compassionate care.

A service will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN 55807 on Saturday, July 26, 2025 with visitation starting at 2:00 pm and a service to follow at 3:00 pm.

If desired, memorials are preferred to the Essentia Health Hospice Foundation in memory of Lenore.
